The Meaning Of Barry

OK While I was looking back at comments for P4A and watching some youtube videos I missed over the last couple of weeks. I thought is there a meaning behind my name.

I found three different meanings from three different countries.

In Wales My name means - The Son Of Harry.

In Ireland My name means - A Spear or Marksman

While in France it means - Gate or Fence

Which I found surprising.

Thought I'll share that with you.

Christmas Happenings (Presents & Television)

Hey guys

I hoped everyone had a good christmas a couple days ago.

I got a few things for christmas which were 3 blu-rays (Wall-E, Hancock and Futurama: Bender's Game) Family Guy DVD which was cool, Malteresers Big Box, 15 pound Game Gift Card and Guitar Hero World Tour On The Wii. I loved all the presents

Now onto Christmas Television the programmes I wanted to watch were Doctor Who (The Next Doctor) and Wallace & Gromit (A Matter Of Loaf & Death). Now I thought Doctor Who was brillant and is the best christmas special that has been done since it came back in 2005. I wont talk about it anymore just in case people from outside from the UK read this. Now Wallace & Gromit was also very good but at first I kinda hated it but after some thoughts I thought it was really good.

OK thats all for now.

Favourite Xmas Song and Favourite Xmas Parody Episode

Hey everyone

Today is Christmas Eve and I just remembered about my favourite Christmas song and favourite Christmas episode.

My favourite Christmas song of all time is from The Pogues & Kirsty Maccoll (RIP) which is called Fairytale In New York. Wonderful song.

My favourite Christmas Episode from the Internet comes from LittleKuriboh which he did back in 2006. This is the funniest thing I have ever seen for a christmas special.

I heard Littlekuriboh is working on another one for this year. If it comes I will edited this entry to include it.

I would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas. Im looking forward to Doctor Who + Wallace & Gromit.

Im off to watch Two Pints Of Lager & A Packet Or Crisps.

MERRY CHRISTMAS.

Project For Awesome Aftermath (Surprises & Global Feature)

Hey everyone

Sorry to do another entry talking about the Project For Awesome but I felt like expressing how I feel about the whole experience.

I feel it was one of the best things I have ever done on Youtube. It is something for a good cause. I think that everyone who did a video for the Project for Awesome should be proud of themselves because it is something good to do before christmas.

I was really shocked by being on the global page yesterday. Even though I was number 11 but getting onto the global page is amazing. My family were surprised by this as well. I mentioned it on Facebook and some friends congratulated me. It is my 3rd feature in 3 months which is something I thought would never happen in a million years. I find life amazing.

I would like to thank the Vlogbrothers again for setting up the Project for Awesome and choosing my video to go onto the global front page yesterday.

Right Im off if I dont write another entry before the 25th I wish you all Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and Happy New Year

Bye

Project For Awesome 2008 - National Autistic Society

Hello Everyone

It is the 17th of December 2008. Today is the Project of Awesome Day that was started last year by John & Hank Green (Vlogbrothers). I took part last year to do the National Autistic Society as my chosen charity. This year I have chosen the same charity which is very important and close to my heart.

National Autistic Society champion the rights and interests of all people with autism and aim to provide individuals with autism and their families with help, support and services that they can access, trust and rely upon and which can make a positive difference to their lives.

Why am I supporting the National Autistic Society?

The reason I am supporting it is because when I was three years old was diagnosed with Autism and went to special schools that they were outside of mainstream schooling. The Charity was able to give my family some real help on how to deal with me if I was acting strange to other people or to my family.

The National Autistic Society gave out a lot of help to people who have autism who were wondering what to do within society.

Why should people donate to the National Autistic Society?

The reason people should donate is because so then the NAS would try to find ways to help people who have autism to find a way to integrate into mainstream society.

In the past I used to post my own videos on here and then stopped because it was annoying people which is understandable but for today it is an important charity to me so I will be posting my Project For Awesome Video on this blog entry.

I hope everyone today looks at every single Project For Awesome video that comes out over the next couple of days, I know I will. I will leave a comment and rate them 5 stars because I know that every single charity is made of awesome.

PROJECT FOR AWESOME FTW.

I will do a normal entry around tomorrow.

Bye for now

Jenga

Hey everyone

I have gotten into the christmas spirit with different types of games. I have spoken about computer games and I watched a couple of videos from Mememolly and Frezned, where they were playing Jenga. This made me go out and buy Jenga because I couldnt find mine, its in a box somewhere I cant be bothered to find it.

Jenga according to Wikipedia is

"a game of physical and mental skill, marketed by Hasbro, in which players remove blocks from a tower and put them on top. The word jenga is derived from kujenga, the Swahili verb "to build"; jenga! is the imperative form."

I think this is a really fun game that should be bought for christmas if you are bored.

Hasbro Web Link to Jenga

OK I will leave you on the videos by Mememolly and Frezned.

Have a good sunday

WoolWorths (RIP) and Life/Classroom Experience

Hey everyone

I felt really sad over the last couple of weeks to find out the store Woolworths is closing down forever. I was really shocked to hear about the news of the store shutting down because they have gone into administration because it is seriously in debt.

My memories of going to Woolies was brillant. Going to the Pick & Mix when it was really cheap and getting the best toys where it was different from other high street stores. I got some dvds at really good prices there when I got older and when I moved down to the South Coast from London. I had a woolworths which is 2 minute walk away from me and now it is going and makes me sad.

RIP - Woolworths.

OK onto the second topic I was talking to Sam (Samcaplat on Youtube) and we were talking about experiences with education and life. Now Sam told me about leaving college because he found it really too easy and needed a challenge. He now works with his mate repairing cars which is I think it is Vehicle mechanics level 2 which he mentioned. He thought college wasnt up to scratch for him. He found out that working and learning outside of College a more of a challenge.

I sometimes found out that I have a better grasp for learning when it is outside of the classroom whether its about money, looking for work and how to deal with real life situations whether it is a relationship or how to do some gardening if you have a garden. But I will admit University was brillant for me to help build some confidences when doing projects and how to give speeches to other people in the room with full confidence.

I think going outside in the real world can be a better experience than what you learn in the classroom but there are times that you need a classroom to give you knowledge otherwise you get really lazy which happens to me some of the time. But it does depend on what your goals are in life otherwise you will always be stuck in square one.

Anyway have a good weekend everyone.

Speak to you later.

Facebook Games - Geo Challenge

I have gotten back into the habit of playing games on Facebook which is really cool. I have been trying to play Geo Challenge which you have to find out the nation flags, know what country it is and where is a certain place in the world. I find this game very challenging plus you learn something in the process.

It took me a while but I was able to beat one of my friends scores and it wasn't easy.

Have to tip my hat to Facebook for creating brillant games. If you got Facebook check them out.

Catching Up On Youtube, Twitter is fun again and Old Classic Computer Games FTW

To be honest I enjoyed doing that short blog entry I did yesterday and prove to be fun so I may do more short blogs to show whats going on and plus it would be like a diary.

1) I was away from my youtube account over the weekend to give a break. Its nice to do every now and then. I am catching up on my subscriptions and it is difficult.

2) The other week I said that Twitter had been distracting and good news is while giving a bit of rest from Twitter it has made me feel alive again which is brillant.

3) I was playing on the Wii and I remember the old games I downloaded from Nintendo store and played a couple of games which were Streets Of Rage II and Super Mario World.

Super Mario World (Game)

Streets Of Rage II - This advert is really funny.

Thats all for now.

Bye

Little Shorts - (Computer Games, N33L3SH, Star Wars and Jazza Aka RhymingWithOranges)

This is not a proper entry but will do one later in the week.

1) I can't stop thinking about Computer Games maybe its because it is Christmas and they come out with top titles for half price which is awesome. I have bought 5 games like that in the last couple of weeks. Which I mentioned on my twitter and in one of my previous entries.

2) I met up with N33L3SH for the first time yesterday and it was a quick meeting but it was fun. We are now following each other on Twitter. May talk to him again on MSN when I get on there.

3) I have been watching Star Wars over the last couple of days and its nice to see. How the old trilogy totally kicks the new trilogy's butt. It was down to how the films were made and the stories within each one. Well George Lucas isn't the best story teller in the film industry.

4) I was reading Rhymingwithoranges Blog around 30 minutes ago. I agree with him on a couple of points he mentioned like I don't like to ask people to subscribe there were a couple of times I did that but realised it wasnt my way and that it was very unkind to ask people to subscribe. The second point is about vlogging where in the past It was very easy for me to do that but it gets a bit tricky now. It is because I was eager at first to do them but now the butterfiles had gone and its not so exciting to do a vlog. I still love doing them.

RhymingWithOranges Blog
- Its a good read.

Will do a proper entry later this week.

Brillant Monday - PS3 Games and Will Smith

Now yesterday was one of the best days I had in a very long time. Now I was checking through my e-mail and got something from Play.com and they were doing their usual deal of the day type things and I was looking around the site and found a Mega Monday Deals for computer games and I found Saints Row 2, Shaun White's Snowboarding and Star Wars: The Force Unleashed for 17.99 each which is brillant. That is the best deal I have seen for Playstation 3 games so far as they aint normally cheap in the shops.

Saints Row 2 Trailer

Star Wars The Force Unleashed Trailer

Shaun White Snowboarding Commerical Trailer

OK after that my family invited me to come along London for the day. Now I didnt have enough money to go up to London and they said they would lend me the money which was cool plus they needed my help later on in the day.

So we left West Sussex and headed up London to Bond Street where we went to Selfridges to look around the Televisions, Computer Equipment and HMV which was cool. I felt I wanted to look around some of London by myself.

During the 2 hours away, I met Will Smith

OK it wasnt the real Will Smith but it was done with green screen and it was free. I went into Zavvi Store in Tottenham Court Road, London and they were doing some promotion for the Hancock DVD/Blu-Ray release which was brillant. I have asked my mate Arron to get me the film for Christmas. Now I have seen Hancock before when I went on holiday over the summer in Newquay. Well I didnt see it in Newquay, I saw it in Truro if you must know. I thought it was a great film. It was really cool not the best film I saw this year but a good film that reminds me of Old School Will Smith when he first starring in films like Bad Boys and Men In Black.

OK here comes the reason why my family wanted me to come up to London with them. They wanted to see the Macbooks because they are thinking about buying one. I was thinking "WHAT???", I did think that. It is now between either buying a Playstation 3 or a Macbook which my parents are thinking about. Crazy isn't it but really great.

OK to finish on something completely different.

and this
