Fame & Autism Documentary Idea

Hello everyone

It's been a while since I last wrote a blog post talking about what's going on with me.

Lately I have been more and openly honest about how I feel about things in life and on YouTube which is a bold and brave moves but lucky though I showed a don't give a fuck attitude towards things as it helped out.

I did a video talking about saying I don't want the YouTube fame and glory. I just want to enjoy my life to the best of my ability. With me getting older its not worth chasing certain things but as long I felt it was easy to achieve.

For those wanting to see the video here is the link - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PQf6ZMkvwqU

I was worried about the reaction I have to admit but I was dead wrong about the reactions. It turns out people were very understanding about the situation.

The reason I wore a hoodie for the video was that I remembered watching a documentary about CM Punk and his career so far up to 2012 and I remembered when they were talking about the points leading to the promo that changed everything he wore a hoodie and talked with real honesty that you can feel his energy and his anger about what was happening. Also it actually helped me to be upfront. It is strange that clothing can help you out haha.

I'm really proud of the video "Fuck Being YouTube Famous" and I will never forget it for what I say and how people have reacted in a way I never expected.

Thank you everyone.

OK I have been thinking about doing a documentary to give myself a certain achievement. I remember the other day with people saying there should a documentary on Female Youtubers then I thought it would be good then people would suggest that you have to be a bit careful and have connections to do this idea. I thought they were right, during one of the conversations my friend Charlie (Not Charlie McDonnell) mentioned Autism within an idea for the original idea.

Right it gave me another idea that I wanted to do a documentary about Autism and people think it is an excellent idea and some would help out. This is fantastic and I was wondering how to get around it. What issues should be explored and if it needed crowd funding or not. They are questions I have been thinking about a lot to do this.

I am happy that people have been giving me feedback on the issues and that I should do crowd funding if it is done right.

Anyway I'm going to give it some more thought into the documentary and if you reading, you can leave me feedback on twitter, Facebook or email if you have any of them.

Take care everyone

Looking back at first 6 months of 2013

Hello everyone

The first half of the year has gone really fast and I can't believe it has come around so fast it is so amazing and realising that getting older does mean time goes a lot quicker. Depends what your outlook is but to me it has gone quickly.

There are 3 things that have totally surprised this year

1) My 30th birthday turned out to be a total blast indeed. Earlier on in the year I almost left YouTube because of business stuff and me hating the corporation machine as some people would say. It was brilliant that I had friends who helped me out and some people may have misunderstood that they thought I was taking them for a ride, I was not at all just some people thinking they know what's going on. I'm going off point, once my 30th arrived it turned into one of the best birthdays I ever had as I was able to go down to Brighton with my best mates for bowling, pub and usual fun we have. I got to say the Office boxset that my folks got me was one of the best presents up there with Sherlock series 2. Great day overall.

2) Going to 10 Downing Street just last month was an icing on the cake. It turned it was going to be my second time there. It turned I went there when I was 5 and can't remember until my mum told before I headed out the door to head to London. It was part of the IF campaign to end world hunger. I went with Lindsay, Charlie, Chris, Lizzie and Jourdan to hand in a petition with Save The Children. I kept on thinking of Reservoir Dogs that day. I did a video of the day and it was fun making and being at the event. Really proud of Lindsay and Charlie and everyone who wanted this to happen. Being in Hyde Park last weekend for the big rally was brilliant too. Emotional too

Finally 3) My final Bath gathering went off like a calm blue ocean. Don't worry there are sure to be more of them in the future. It was a great day to be with Youtubers again even though I saw them back in March for Bristol one, it felt like 6 months later instead of 3. Being by the Royal Crescent is always a highlight even though the gathering can be remembered as nearly everyone got sunburnt either face or their arms. I got it worst and wont talk about what happened the next week at Hyde Park for the rally.

It has been a fun year so far and full of surprises. Don't take anything for granted.

Speak to you later.

I hope to get "The Last Of Us" later today

Peace

Being Busy. Good and Bad!

Hey everyone

It's been a long time since I have done a post and I have said that before haha.

I discovered that Blogger is now on the iPad and now I can do it without putting on my laptop every single time.

I'm over what happened earlier this year with me leaving YouTube altogether for those wondering and feeling in a great mood but sometimes stress does kick in when it comes to being busy.

For the last 18 months I have been busy nearly everyday doing something whether it is work with my job at Tescos, voluntary work in Shoreham dong audio editing and voluntary work in London to help out autistic people. It's really crazy.

Last year I decided to cut back from one of my voluntary jobs because of train fares and amount of work that was done in a really quick time.

I remember having two different chats a while ago and they both told me on separate occasions that it is ok to be doing something every day and the days go quicker. That is true to a degree but sometimes when you are busy for so long that you get used to it, that it can be slow or can destroy you mentality.

A couple of weeks I felt a lot stress from doing a different job every day for a few weeks ago and felt I needed a day off to get rid of the stress. Lucky though I had a surprise visit from an uncle I ain't seen in years. It was great seeing him again.

Over the course of time when sorting out job stuff, I had a chat with my best mate and he said to cut back on my other voluntary job to once every 2 weeks which is a brilliant idea. This would also help with my other voluntary job in Shoreham if they need me on Thursdays which they did today early in the morning.

The disadvantage of not being busy is that days are long and boring. You feel you haven't achieved anything at all. Makes you feel empty. So to me I need to find the right balance which I hope to soon. It will take time.

Thanks for reading

Welcome Back Barry (Part 2) - The Hip Hop Album (Part 1)

Hey again everyone

As promised I am going to talk about how I am going to do my Hip Hop album and how I got into loving Hip Hop/Rap music.

First of all how did I start loving Hip Hop music. I was 13 years old at the time and my brother was trying to get me into music a lot more, so he got out a Cypress Hill called The Temples Of Boom and had a track called "Throw Your Set In The Air" cool joint then along the way he introduced me to Snoop Dogg's Debut Album called "DoggyStyle" then more West Coast and my love for the genre really kicked in with also East Coast stuff from Biggie Smalls and Nas helping out as well

My brother stopped listening to it years later but I am still going and proud of it, so I thank my brother for it every day which is brilliant.

Now during my school days I tried to rap but I had problems which were 1) I couldn't flow right and 2) I was incredibly shy which I am still am now. That is one of the things I really need to get through which I did talk about in a vlog a little while ago.

Its been 14 years since I wanted to do this but its down to my confidence and my ability to get it done. I want to record the album next year and have it out by the end of next year at least. For me this is the scariest fucking thing I have ever done. This is the biggest demon that I have to face left, which is stage confidence. I did have those nerves when on stage at the Bath Gathering a few days ago. Thats something to work on too.

What made my decision to do an album, I was in my room going through a bit over a break up which was grown up and done right in terms of a break up and I was listening to Drake's 2nd Album "Take Care" because I used to sing lyrics from that album to my ex and I was listening to the track "Lord Knows" and heard from Rick Ross's verse. It felt it had a lot of power and swagger to the verse which was brilliant and reminded me of Biggie Smalls. One of my favourite MCs of all time. That how I wanted to do an album.

Now I am thinking of concepts and ideas for the album which includes a mix variety of tracks. Some people thought my twitter and facebook were hacked when I mentioned this idea. I have heard people are excited for it including one of my favourite indie musicians ever Tom Milsom. Who is very critical and honest about the music scene. I said to him I don't mind how he rates my album as long I get it done but I know Tom said to me that he knows it will be my own words and thoughts going into it. Now that deserves a huge amount of respect.

I will start talking about the tracks in another entry which could be tomorrow or over the weekend when I have a lot more time to do it.

Take care for now guys.

Welcome Back Barry (Part 1)

Hey everyone

Its a long time since I last did a blog post on here and I have seen a few friends I know come out with blogging and thought I would make a comeback.

Now A lot has happened to me which some of it has been great and some not so great but have to deal with it one day at a time.

I don't have the most interesting life and I don't know why people like me, its puzzling me at times. I don't want to develop an ego where I have seen people who had no egos back in the day, having egos later in life where they aren't healthy to other people. That's probably why I find it a surprise.

Anyway no more negative stuff.

During the summer and autumn I helped out with a couple of projects where I was an Associate Producer for The Chronicles Of Syntax where I had a lot of fun on set. Sadly I can't talk about what happened and what I did because contracts and that's understandable.

The other project was as an executive producer for a film called Dark Roar which is based in Brighton. I hung around the crew for the day and it was great day to be had.

I'm waiting on the screening dates to happen which will be interesting indeed.

I also helped out on a project with my neighbour being the director. Its called RG1 where during Summer In The City weekend on the Sunday I helped out for one day which a lot of fun. It finished and it had a screening last Tuesday which I couldn't make it because of money and needed it for the Bath Gathering last weekend which I will get to. It got onto the local news which I was gutted about not going but hey Im glad I helped out with the project. I have seen it and it was nice short film dealing with Youth Crime.

Speaking about the Bath Gathering and my trips to Bath this year have been brilliant. I always love going there. I did 2 Bath Gatherings this year which was first and broke my own rule of only doing 1. Last weekend was memorable for the Christmas one. I'm glad we did it for the memory of Nathan Wills who passed away during the summer. Nathan to me and a lot of people was a great friend and will be missed indeed.

Charlotte's videos shows the gatherings really well from the summer one and the one last weekend for Christmas.

Bath Summer Gathering

Bath Festive Gathering

I got a lot more to say but may leave for another entry tomorrow in the second part where I talk about my music album and my near feud with YouTube and certain YouTubers I was so close to dissing NO JOKE which Im glad I never did.

Take Care Guys
