My First Doctor Who Memory

Hello everyone

I was going to do a different blog entry yesterday but couldn't get the right things to say but lucky though I was Twitter this morning and I was reading the Doctor Who Bar Blog and was reading a blog about Tom's earilest memory of watching Doctor Who and he mentioned the 4th Doctor and the story Logopolis.

As it is approaching the 48th anniversary of Doctor Who in 2 days and of course Doctor Who Series 6 is being released on DVD & Blu-Ray today, I thought I would talk about my earilest memory with Doctor Who.

I remember it being a Wednesday Autumn night being a 5 year old and it was 1988. I was in a living room just playing with my toys and then on the tele was something a programme that had some errie music and had a wonderful title sequence that was filled with space and stars. It looked wonderful for its time and still does now.

I remember the first story I ever watched very well and it involved the Daleks which was a real concidence to lead into later on. When I saw the first episode of Remembrance Of The Daleks I felt there was something special with the programme. The Doctor was the 7th played by Sylvester McCoy and the companion was Ace played by Sophie Aldred

The setting was very important because it had a link with the very first Doctor Who story back in 1963. The Doctor and Ace go back to investigate whats going on and find there are two dalek factions going after the Hand Of Omega. I wont spoil anymore and let you watch the story. I loved the cliffhangers in episodes 1 & 2 for this story.

Here's a fan trailer of the story

I felt in love with the show after that story thinking at first it was a series of 4 episodes and glad there was, although the rest of the story wasnt as good as the first story but it was fun to watch. Seeing the doctor being a sort of hero/anti-hero that saves the earth and wondering who is he really?

After that I watched the next series which had 4 fantastic stories which included the first time seeing Brigader Lethbridge-Stewart in a story called Battlefield. I really felt the show got so good by the last two stories of that season that I was wanting more. During that time I thought it had taken a rest but found out years ago that it was cancelled by the end of 1989. So the 1990s had no Doctor Who for a long time. I didnt know during that time that it cancelled. It was great and it led to some dark times that made me stop watching the programme by the end of 1990s until it came back in 2005.

One day or maybe tomorrow I will talk about what happened during the 1990s with my Doctor Who fandom, how I got into the Older Doctors and later on with the new Doctors up to Matt Smith.

Thanks for reading

Hey everyone

I am Uncharted mad this week, as the third game in the series has come out on the Playstation 3 and I did two videos within two days.

Here is my review of Uncharted 3 in which I give a perfect score

Im not going to lie, that game is amazing and so brilliant. I had non stop playing which is unheard of for me.

Love the series, Love the characters and Love all the stories from all 3 games.

Who knows if there is going to be a fourth game one day.

Take care
